MANEKO Privacy Policy

MANEKO (the “App”) is an Android application that assists with web communication and content browsing. This policy explains how information is handled in the App.

Translation features
When a user requests a translation, text entered by the user, selected messages, or other text chosen for translation may be sent to the translation provider selected by the user. The provider's own terms and privacy policy apply to that processing.
API keys
API keys entered by the user are stored on the device as needed to provide the selected translation features. The App is designed not to intentionally include API keys in diagnostic logs.
Settings, bookmarks and diagnostics
App settings, bookmarks and diagnostic information are generally processed and stored on the user's device. Diagnostic information is shared externally only when the user takes an action to share it.
Third-party web services
Sign-in sessions, cookies, account data, posts and messages for Discord, Telegram, X, YouTube and other web services are managed by those services. MANEKO is an independent, unofficial application and is not an official client of those services.
Third-party components
The App may use Mozilla GeckoView, TWP, uBlock Origin and other third-party components. See “Third-party services” and “Open-source licenses” in the App for details.
Retention and deletion
Settings stored locally by the App may be removed through App settings, app data deletion, or uninstalling the App. Data sent to third-party services is subject to each service's retention and deletion policies.
Security
The App uses reasonable measures such as avoiding unnecessary logging of sensitive data and protecting API keys and similar credentials.
Advertising and billing
This pre-advertising version assumes that AdMob advertising and Google Play Billing for ad removal are not yet included in the publicly distributed App. Before those features are released, this policy and the Google Play Data safety disclosures must be updated to match the actual implementation.
Changes
This policy may be updated when features, third-party services, laws, or platform requirements change.
